Conexión Rock Radio marca un precedente en su Serie de Entrevistas Internacionales. Esta vez Grecia ha sido el país seleccionado y por supuesto Rotting Christ es la banda escogida para conocer de su música, historia y planes ambiciosos en este 2016 cuando sale a la luz el disco numero 13 en su carrera: RITUALS.
Johonny Gonzalez conversa con el guitarra, fundador y compositor de la banda: Sakis Tolis en una entrevista en modo de retrospectiva que narra los inicios sus inicios en 1987, y con la experiencia adquirida previamente en una banda llamada Black Church fue ahí cuando el y su hermano Themis influenciados por las creciente ola del metal extremo europeo deciden formar una propuesta seria, con un sonido fuerte que con el paso de los años fue evolucionando hasta tener una identidad establecida, historia, mitología griega, mitología de otras culturas, una postura anti cristiana con pasajes de ocultismo es lo que refleja Rotting Christ en la actualidad.
En Rituals nos encontramos con el que para muchos se puede considerar el disco mas oscuro y experimental en varios años, comparándose con discos clásicos y de calidad como Κατά τον δαίμονα εαυτού, Sanctus Diavolos, Theogonia o el clásico Aealo vienen a enriquecer su legado musical que mantienen vivo en casi 30 años de existencia.
Rituals viene ahora a reclamar un lugar de preferencia entre los fans de la banda, como un fiero competidor furioso como un guerrero y poderoso como un dios, que nos embarcara por una serie de pasajes oscuros dignos de vagar por el Hades, o épicos que te harán sentir a flor de piel la furia de la historia griega, que manifiestan en sus temas y la glorificación de su ideología no importando los señalamientos o prejuicios que tanto grupos religiosos como conservadores han intentado arruinar a la banda durante su trayectoria.
