Svenja: Heading For The Crown no es un álbum conceptual.
Muchos pensarían que Master of Thunder o Good Morning Rock'n'Roll serían los elegidos. Y tal vez podría ser Master of Thunder o Good Morning Rock'n'Roll.
Good morning Rock'n'Roll! Heavy Metal is once again the protagonist in the international interviews that Conexión Rock Radio has for you, and if you are one of those who like this genre with female voices, we invite you to give them an opportunity to listen to their proposal, and if possible, start following them. in this interesting adventure that they do with good music. We present Böllverk from Bavaria, Germany, a band that has been active since 2018, and who have taken their first steps on the scene with the presentation of their EP Let's Ride Till Dawn, released in 2020, and now the bet has taken giant steps with his first full-length in 2022 called Heading For The Crown. We talked with their vocalist Svenja, who shares with all of you the reception the album has had, how the band has survived the pandemic, the interesting plans it seeks to achieve with this release and future projects with its fans, not only in Germany. but from various countries around the world. Böllverk currently consists of Raphi and Zahn- Guitars, Tim- Bass, Angelo- Drums, and Svenja- Vocals. Make yourselves comfortable, and enjoy this talk with Svenja, enjoy Böllverk's music at full volume to shout with great energy to everyone: Good Morning Rock And Roll! Conexion Rock Radio: Svenja, thanks for the time you dedicate to us in this interview back home where we will share with our readers the interesting news that an interesting band like Böllverk has this year for its fans around the world, welcome! Svenja: Hello, I have to thank you! I was really looking forward to the interview! CR: We want to know if in the last weeks you have been able to play in big or small places there in Germany? Svenja: Not in the last few weeks, but in the last few months. It's really hard to get gig deals this year because it's the turn of those bands who weren't allowed to play during the pandemic. But those concerts we played were amazing, as were the venues and of course the fans who made our concerts special with their great mood. CR: It's good to know that the scene over there is progressively reactivating, but let's talk about good news, especially for those who will meet the band for the first time in this conversation with you, a few months ago, precisely in mid-April you released their debut album called Heading for the Crown, which was released on digital and CD, by the way, congratulations on this first step in your career as a band.
What impressions have you had both from the critics and from the fans towards this album? Svenja: Thank you very much! Apparently most people liked our album. Releasing an album was an exciting experience and it's interesting to hear or read independent opinions about what you've been working on. Of course, it's different to hear from your friends and family that they like the album than from strangers. And of course there are always things to improve, some criticisms were justified. CR: Despite the fact that the band has been active for a few years and released the EP Let's Ride Till Dawn in 2020, and that now with Heading they present us with a completely different line-up, we know that both you as a vocalist, Tim-Bass and Angelo-Drums They are new to the band.
How do you feel about bringing a fresh and powerful touch to Böllverk's music? I think a big advantage is that I don't just listen to Heavy Metal. I also like other music genres, so I will try to bring my own ideas for the next album regarding the melody of the vocals and the vocal style itself. I like to break the rules as long as it sounds good, of course. CR: We know that Zahn was a vocalist years ago and now his role is guitar and he supports you on backing vocals. How was your entrance like Tim and Angelo to the band?
Svenja: Raphi, Zahn, Angelo and Tim have known each other for a long time, so Tim and Angelo joined the band. I met Angelo while he was out with the dog and he started talking to me because I was wearing a band t-shirt. Then we started talking about our bands (I was already singing in a Power Metal band called Fatal Fire). I showed him our song and he asked me to come to the Böllverk rehearsal. It immediately fit perfectly. It was so much fun to sing Böllverk songs and it's always fun with the boys! CR: What is your point of view that the music of many bands has remained strong during these years of pandemic, or do you consider that the music industry has a challenge that it has not yet been able to overcome despite the fact that there are vaccines and more control for be able to do concerts and festivals? Svenja: I think it is still a big challenge for the music industry, because nobody knows what will happen next, will there be more lockdowns or will there be another variant of the coronavirus? The current situation is unpredictable and the most important thing for a musician is to give shows. CR: What experiences has the band had recording these songs, were you in charge of the recording process or did you work with an outside producer to put the finishing touches on the band's sound?
Svenja: We recorded the album 2-3 months after I joined the band, but I think we were already a good team. We work with producer Rolf Munkes, guitarist for Crematory. He had a lot of good ideas and advice. We have learned what we can do better next time. Fun fact: I wrote the verse for The 7th No (ISA A KO) the night before and sang a tune in the studio. CR: The album is very good from start to finish, but we came across some very good tracks like Ask the Angel, Listen to the Devil, Good Morning Rock'n'Roll, Master of Thunder, the bluesy Live Fast and Someday We Will Die. . What stories does the band offer us through their songs, do they seek to offer something conceptual or are there different things there? Svenja: Heading For The Crown is not a concept album. The guys just wrote about those typical Heavy Metal themes. Maybe the next one will be conceptual but I don't want to reveal too much CR: With all the good acceptance that the album currently has, has the band contemplated looking for a label to be able to promote their music in other continents? Svenja: There are no plans for that yet. CR: I don't know if there have been requests from fans to do a promotional video.
Many would think that Master of Thunder or Good Morning Rock'n'Roll would be the chosen ones. In your opinion, which song could be perfect to record on camera? Svenja: Yes, we are planning to make a video, probably in the fall! And maybe it could be Master of Thunder or Good Morning Rock'n'Roll. CR: Taking advantage of the fact that the album was released and is on the streets, do you plan to do several concerts soon or organize tours outside of Germany?
Svenja: We think it is necessary for the band to be able to make themselves known to new audiences outside of their country. It is absolutely necessary! First of all, we are planning to play in Germany, but if something comes up, we will definitely take the opportunity! CR: What message do you want to send to our readers who have enjoyed the end of this interview for Conexión Rock Radio?
