Recientemente hemos lanzado ya nuestro primer single: Illuminati, tenemos pensado mas adelante preparar dos nuevos videos: Spirit of Beelzebub y Book Of Lies.

God Dethroned The Eye of Horus Announces The Arrival of the Illuminati Conexion Rock Radio starts the 2020 interview season with one of the most representative extreme metal bands in Europe, and returns through the big door with an album that seeks to consecrate his career, and everything indicates that this goal will be materialized. Our stop on this occasion is in the Netherlands, and we talked with Henri Sattler, Voice and Guitar of the band God Dethroned, who at the beginning of February will release their new work called Illuminati via Metal Blade Records, and that at the discretion of our special guest this New chapter in its history is impregnated with a dark atmosphere, and they take some bases from their first works giving their sound a completely renewed air, and at the same time the debut of Guitarist Dave Meester, replacing Mike Ferguson. Currently the current incarnation of the band is conformed by Henri Sattler- Guitar and Voice, Michiel van der Plicht- Drums, Jeroen Pomper- Bass, and Dave Meester- Guitars This and other interesting details ... you will know them in our report: Conexion Rock Radio: Henri, it is an honor to have you here for our audience in our region who wants to know about the next news God Dethroned will have for his fans in 2020, welcome! Henri Sattler: Thank you Johonny and for the interest of talking with me on this day! CR: Start the interview of this day in congratulate the band on the release of their new album called Illuminati, and it will be released the first days of February via Metal Blade Records, and everyone thinks this is a great way to start 2020 with a new God Dethroned album, what are your expectations with this new album?
HS: Thank you for your comment, this is my first interview for a Latin American radio station! We are waiting for people to like the new album that is our expectation, in the same way we want to organize several tours in America this year and reach as many fans as possible, this will definitely be a great period for the band! CR: The fans consider this album one of the most anticipated releases this year, especially for the production it´s conceptual or do we have different stories in this work? HS: This album is varied at the point of the stories, we have previously experimented with three works: Passiondale (Passchendaele) (2009), Under the Sign of the Iron Cross (2010), and The World Ablaze (2017) with topics related to the WW 1. For this new one we have done things differently and retake things from our first days, we can tell you that Illuminati comes with a completely dark atmosphere through the lyrics that speak of the occult and especially of religion. Recently we have already released our first single: Illuminati, we plan to prepare two new videos: Spirit of Beelzebub and Book Of Lies. So, we invite you to keep an eye on the surprises that are coming soon on our official channels and networks. CR: In the same way with Illuminati marks the debut of Dave Meester as guitar player of the band, how do you feel in have to Dave now playing with GD?
HS: We feel happy as a band to have Dave with us. When we started our tour with Belphegor and Suffocation, our former guitarist Mike Ferguson warns us that he could not continue with us for that trip. So, we communicated with Dave, and he answered the call, rehearsed quickly, and he learned several songs for the tour. He is a great guitarist, seeing the good results we decided he would stay with us, and it was a good choice. CR: What reactions has the band had with the release of the first single from the album: Illuminati, you invoke to an undead who take him out of the grave and revive him, and send to kill a priest in a church and once that mandate return to his eternal dream.
What is the story behind the video? By the way: excellent concept for the story! HS: Thanks for the comment! The story tells of someone who is sent to destroy incognito. The general context of the video is to denounce the abuses that the church makes against the people, especially because of the scandals that have been involved for several years. In the video you can see that the priest in the church does bad actions, and then the scene where several priests appear (one of them is me) in a mausoleum taking out a corpse and under a spell we resuscitate him and send him to kill the priest , and so once this is done, return to your coffin. CR: This is his eleventh album in his career and the tenth with Metal Blade Records of The Grand Grimoire of 1997
How do you feel as a band to be part of an iconic label like this? HS: It's a great pride for us, it was a vision that Brian Slagel (Founder) had years ago, and that over time it became a reality and that it was the cradle of many legends around the world like Slayer, Cannibal Corpse, King Diamond, Merciful Fate, among others, and for us it is an honor to be part of the label that we consider a family, and we wish with them to continue working to offer excellent works like the one that comes out soon, and we are definitely proud. CR: What is your point of view about the musical evolution that the band has in these almost thirty years? Is there any formula to make high quality albums? HS: Very interesting that, to be honest with you and the rest, we try to give our best as musicians in each album, I love playing the guitar as much time as possible, writing lyrics, playing various genres, Heavy, Thrash, Black or Death Metal, all those sounds are reflected in our albums during all those years, our main conviction is not disappoint the fans from all over the world. The album comes on CD but the normal and colored editions will appear on Vinyl, the cover of the Vortex of Souls will be seen in more detail and will be a special detail for collectors. CR: With the good reception and promotion of this album, do you consider recording a live album or a live DVD in the future?
HS: It's an interesting question. Many bands currently revisit their classic albums to celebrate them live, in the case of God Dethroned we recently played the Bloody Blasphemy for their 20 years, and it was a great show, everyone who was on the celebration tour enjoyed it from start to finish, We know that for many this album marked an important moment in the life of the band, to the point of consecrating it as a cult album. About a live work, I strongly agree, in our previous works there are some special editions that appear live tracks on both CD and DVD. For Illuminati we plan to release a special box set later including extra things, so a special live section can may appear. CR: What message do you want to send to those who have read us on this day, and thank you for your time in answering these questions in this interview?
HS: Thank you for the questions and especially the interest of everyone in knowing what the band is doing now, we hope to play in Latin America soon, and we invite you to follow us on our channels for the next news that will come soon, in same way visit the online shop of the label, and Thank you for the constant support you give us! CR: Henri, thanks for your time here, in the same way to our MBR friends for making this interview possible, the best for you and your bandmates with this new album, and we hope to talk again in the future and give continuity to the history. from a great band like God Dethroned! HS: Thanks to you Johonny and your readers, we hope to see you in the future on some tour!
