YG: Es conceptual.
Eventually we released the album in December 2018 and for us it's a very important milestone. CR: For many who know for the first time that the music of the band represents a great discovery in our sound radar, we hear bands from Europe or the United States, but a band from Israel is something that catches our attention.
¿Are you aware of you and your bandmates in the story who will write with this album? Can you please explain the meaning of the Kadachat name? YG: Yes, of course, there’s a big story behind the album and the songs. The Meaning of Kadachat in English is Fever. Actually, FEVEROCK is our alternative name outside Israel. CR: On The Die Is Cast, we want to know if this album is conceptual or has several stories. YG: It's conceptual. All the songs, more or less, talk about the same issue, and combined with sense of humor. CR: Let's talk about the origins of an interesting band like Kadachat, we know that the band was formed in 2002 in Tel Aviv, but it was in 2012 that they recorded their self-titled EP, and in 2018 this new album
How was the idea of forming a Heavy Metal / Hard Rock band in a scene that begins to grow in Israel? YG: Let me correct you - the band was formed in 2008, not in 2002. When I formed the band I have not thought about the scene in my country. Actually I know that Rock and Metal is a part of my life and I wished for a band of myself which would make something different from other bands in the country. CR: What experiences have you left to the band in the recording studio? YG: We can tell that when we started to record the album for the second time, we didn't know how the fuck we should do that, and the situation gave us inconvenient, funny and exiting experiences. Eventually we did a great album in our opinion, and we have to give the credit for the pre-production to Shlomo Mizrachi (one of the biggest guitarists in Israel), Yossi Buzin (took a part as a guest drummer) and my brother Barak Grossberg (took a part as a guest guitarist). CR: Are you currently looking for a record label that supports you or looks at independently as a better option?
YG: We hope that a known label will support us recording our second album, but we know the conditions in Israel and that there is a low percent to achieve it. CR: What is your general perception of the rock and metal scene in Israel? We know there are many bands and a variety of genres. How do you see Kadachat on the local sonic radar in your country? Has it been easy or difficult to have recognition? YG: There are many bands but there are no unity between them. In fact there are several scenes: soft metal, extreme metal, indie, punk, blues-rock, tribute bands, etc. Kadachat doesn't take a part in any scene. It's hard for other bands to accept us because of our strange properties and the opinion that we are parody. CR: Do you feel comfortable speaking in your native language as a sign of being true to your identity or do you want to sing in English in the future? YG: sing the music in Hebrew for several reasons. We want to keep our activity in Israel for the meantime. In addition, I think that if I would write the songs in English, It wasn't so special and weird like it is. However, there are plans to write few songs in English in the near future. CR: Do you have promotion plans for 2019 or visit other countries?
YG: Currently no, but if more people like you around the world are interested, maybe I will. YG: What is the vision that the band has for the future with a great album in their hands as The Die Is Cast? This summer we are gonna produce a festival and celebrate 10 years of activity and also celebrate a CD edition of the album. CR: What message do you want to send to those who listened to us in this interview on this day from Israel? YG: People who know Kadachat should know about our attitude, and if someone doesn’t, so now it's the time to be aware to the phenomenon. CR: Yonatan, thank you for your time in this interview, Conexion Rock Radio has the doors open so we can talk again in the future, and I send a greeting to the band that begins this great adventure called Kadachat!
