R3VO
R3VO
The Beginning Of A Pleasant Revocation If you are one of those who like the sound of progressive bands with a touch of youth and fresh air, we invite you to take a look at the proposal that we present to you in our international interviews on Conexión Rock Radio. On our tour we make a stop in Berlin, Germany, and we introduce you to R3VO, a band that is beginning to take its first steps in the world of music at the beginning of 2019, taking more compositional strength as a result of the pandemic, and the concern of four young people who were looking to do something different. We talked this time with their bassist Victor Nissim about how this proposal was born, about the songs they have recently recorded and about the plans that the band has possibly for the end of 2022 or the beginning of 2023 to record what would be their first record production. R3vo besides Nissim is made up of Leo Barbato- Vocals, Altaïr Chagué- Drums, and Jan Kurfürst on Guitars. Make yourself comfortable, some of the band sounds on your playlist, and enjoy their music and especially, start from now on the Start of a Pleasant Revocation with a lot of strength and youth in the style of R3vo Conexión Rock Radio: Hello Victor, how are you, thank you for the time you will give us back home to do this interview for our readers, and learn about what you have planned to do as R3vo this year, welcome! Victor Nissim: Hi Johonny, thanks for your interest in talking from far away, and greetings to those who are going to read this interview. CR: Thanks Víctor, how has it been for the band to face this situation that has affected us all in these two years, have you been able to play again there in Berlin?
VN: Currently in Germany things are returning to normal, despite the fact that currently the places to hold concerts still maintain restrictions and hygiene measures, and people have gradually lost their fear of attending concerts and now they enjoy live music, which for us as artists is a relief after what we have suffered with the pandemic, a few weeks ago we had the opportunity to do a concert in a building. This was all part of a festival where we were able to interact with people even though it was a somewhat strange experience after playing again after this long break it was very gratifying to play for people there again in these last 3 shows, and thus be able to take a break to be able to compose as many ideas and offer something new to the fans in the coming days. CR: It´s good to know that many bands are back in action, although many musicians during this confinement experienced despair because everything was normal again, and on the other hand the anxiety of being able to play on stage, with which of those two points did I touch them? deal with you as a band? VN: Personally for a long time I couldn't sleep when all this happened, but as everything went back to normal we didn't feel any panic or stress, and felt relaxed playing live in front of people. I don't want to be pretentious, but I rarely get stressed at a concert, so in the end we guess it wasn't too bad even though people were complaining about the need for concerts to come back to the point of getting pissed off with this situation , but in the end people now feel in good spirits and enjoy concerts when the opportunity arises. CR: Currently the band has been releasing singles, with Artificial Pleasure being the new material that they have released on various digital platforms, what impressions have you had from people towards these four songs that they have released so far, both on platforms and on their own? channel on YouTube?
VN: For the band all this was great, people's reactions have been kind and positive, which is why we are happy to have this kind of comments on our networks, and all this means that we know all these people at some point. moment not only when we were immersed in the recording of the songs, but also in the work of recording the videos. There are things that happen in a very fleeting way and although we had a lot of pressure to record on location, recording everything for us was a great relief against all the ups and downs that we have experienced since we returned to activity after the pandemic. CR: It's very interesting that you as a newly emerging band have had to overcome these kinds of challenges, and how have you felt about releasing this material in the rocky circumstances the world is currently experiencing?
VN: In general for any artist it's really great to launch and expose your creativity to people, which means that you can go further with an exclusive thought and focus on what you do. Perhaps there are people who are very talented but who do not take risks in launching their creations and that is where the artist loses a lot of ground, because the reactions that people have about what you offer will depend on it, and doing that without fear of things makes everything rewarding in the end. CR: With all this good impression that people have towards the band, the big question is: Will you release an EP or an album in late 2022 or early 2023? VN: The idea is to release the material between September and October, although we don't have a set release date, the band is committed to covering various details of the mixing and production process, so hopefully the new material will come out soon. the light in those months. CR: Speaking of this whole process that will end shortly, how did you feel recording the songs, did you have the help of a producer, or did you take care of everything from the beginning?
VN: We called in a recording engineer, and all the sessions were done in our rehearsal room. Everyone brought their instruments and amps from him. Although we had no idea what we should do, we noticed that everything was simpler through audio interfaces and a computer. We completed all this in a period of two to three days, after recording the vocals and other instruments separately, we are currently in the mixing process, and we have high hopes that something interesting will come out of it. CR: For the people who will listen to them for the first time, we want to know what they talk about in their songs?
VN: All our songs speak of abstract situations and personal experiences that we have lived in recent years, I can mention The Stranger and Revocation as examples of what we express directly, as well as including emotions and feelings that explode in the songs that everything sounds good, and all this was the result of a year and a half of ideas and work that ended up being reflected in four songs since at the time of writing the lyrics I let those emotions put together a thread and let them be the one that drives the ideas in the song. Perhaps for some this doesn't mean anything, but for others from the moment they read the lines of the songs they identify with a particular part, and that is where we say that we generate an impact on people. CR: We want to know how R3vo was born
Is it a reference to revolution or revolutionary? Have you started this project from scratch or have you been in other bands before to do something new, fresh and different? VN: Honestly no. But it sounds attractive at first sight (laughs), since we were looking for the name for the band I thought that this is what we were looking for, it sounds perfect and as I told you before we were looking to capture our emotions through music and get people's attention and they might think at first impression that the name could be associated with something "revolutionary" and we only change the E and replace it with a 3 because we want to do something different and interesting to those who discover us on the networks. CR: Is R3vo currently looking for a record label or do you see doing everything independently as the best option? VN: It would be different for us to be part of a label, and if there are any agents who are interested in the band, they call us or we will go for them (laughs) CR: In these months of confinement, what experiences have you had of participating in online festivals?
Do you find it normal or strange for the band to do this kind of concerts? VN: In fact, we have only done one, actually far from being something live it ended up being a recording and then it was released online in its entirety, it was in a school room where we made the recording, and after that the best for us It was to concentrate on writing new things and letting this whole situation pass, so we would take more time to record and polish our songs in a better way. CR: With all this that is being generated in the band's camp, do you plan to do more shows or is the priority for now to prepare the material to be released in the coming months? VN: For now, as I told you a while ago, everything is finished, except for reviews that we are doing within the process of mixing and mastering the material, as well as focusing on giving new surprises to people in a few weeks. While that moment arrives, we are preparing new ideas for the future to define what our next move is in 2023, although it will always be necessary to be able to present the songs in various places, and that will be our priority in the remainder of the months of this year. CR: At the end of this interview Victor, what message do you want to send to those who have read us this time, and I want to thank you for the time you have taken to answer our questions on Conexión Rock Radio
VN: Thanks to you, Johonny, and we hope that people there in Latin America can like the material that we will release soon, and we invite you to follow us on our networks and platforms so that you find out what we are preparing for you later. . Thanks again and greetings to all from Berlin. Special thanks to Davide Pullito of The Metallist PR for his help in making this interview possible, as well as to Victor Nissim for the time allowed in Berlin. For future news, purchase of their official material and contacts with the band, we invite you to follow them from their Official Facebook In the same way, if you want to enjoy his proposal, we share this link to his channel on Spotify.
