Nuestro contacto fue hasta Berlín, Alemania. Ahí conversamos con el Guitarrista, Compositor y Fundador de The Ocean (mejor conocidos como The Ocean Collective), Robín Staps, quien nos comenta en esta entrevista que su banda regresa con una nueva entrega discográfica tras 5 años de ausencia y tras la gran aceptación de su anterior álbum Pelagial, regresan con las energías recargadas para presentarnos Phanerozoic I: Palaeozoic, y que será lanzado a inicios de Noviembre vía Metal Blade Records. The Ocean se forma en 2000, logrando a través de los años un reconocimiento internacional que les ha dado la oportunidad de viajar a varios países alrededor del mundo, y tocar en los más prestigiosos festivales con una discografía que los fans la definen como perfecta, evolutiva y consagrada.
Actualmente la banda además de Staps se complementa con Loïc Rossetti en las Vocales, Mattias Hägerstrand en el Bajo, Paul Seidel en la Batería, Vincent Membrez en el Piano y Teclados y Dalai Theofilopoulou en el Cello.
Según Robín, Phanerozoic I: Palaeozoic nos relata de manera conceptual una aventura que se remonta a más de 500 millones de años, precisamente en el Periodo Paleozoico, y que a partir de ese momento se iniciaban una serie de cambios drásticos para la historia del planeta con el surgimiento tanto de los continentes como de los reptiles.
De igual manera se confirma por parte de la banda que se están preparando para lo que sería la segunda parte de este álbum, misma que verá la luz en algún momento de 2020, y que para sus fans este podría ser uno de sus más ambiciosos proyectos en su carrera, y como es una tradición en la banda esta nueva entrega vendrá tanto en su versión con voces como instrumental.

Our contact was to Berlin, Germany. There we talked with the guitarist, composer and founder of The Ocean (better known as The Ocean Collective), Robin Staps, who tells us in this interview that his band returns with a new record after 5 years of absence and after the great acceptance of their previous album Pelagial, they return with the recharged energies to present us Phanerozoic I: Palaeozoic, and that will be released at the beginning of November via Metal Blade Records.
