GOD DETHRONED
Tracklist: 1- Illuminati 2- Broken Halo 3- Book of Lies 4- Spirit of Beelzebub 5- Satan Spawn 6- Gabriel 7- Eye of Horus 8- Dominus Muscarum 9- Blood Moon Eclipse En este enlace puedes escuchar toda su discografía en Spotify

GOD DETHRONED
ILLUMINATI Metal Blade Records Review by Johonny González @conexionrockhn A long-lived demon that has survived worthily in the modern era! Thus we would define this new work of this band that returns through the big door in its almost 30 years of existence, and that with 11 albums released they are considered pioneers of the extreme genre from the Netherlands to the whole world! We refer to God Dethroned, and this time we are presented with his eleventh work called Illuminati, and it went on sale in early February 2020 via Metal Blade Records, marking a rise of glorious works such as The Toxic Touch, Passiondale (Passchendaele ), Under the Sign of the Iron Cross and The World Ablaze, in which they have left a good taste in their fans who look on this new album as the best in their career and comparing it as the younger brother of their classic Bloody Blasphemy. The protagonists of this blasphemous assault: Michiel van der Plicht- Drums, Jeroen Pomper- Bass, the newly incorporated Dave Meester on Guitars, and the mastermind of all this: Henri Sattler Guitars and Vocals have literally known how to open hell on earth with completely anti-religious themes in a blunt album, using formulas established by the old school bands, where production has been a determining factor for a pleasant experience sonically speaking with brutal, melodic, atmospheric, technical, and operatic moments, where GD has remarkably taken advantage of these resources by way of experimentation, and with a duration of 37 minutes that will leave you satisfied with the desire to hear it again, all this thanks to the hand of Ortrun Poolman and Berthus Westerhuis in the production and mixing, which together with Sattler have shaped this demon that at the first listening will leave you captivated from beginning to end.
Since the moment that revealed the first singles of the album: Illuminati, Book of Lies, and Spirit of Beelzebub, the bet was won for the band from the first moment as far as expectations are concerned, as for Broken Halo and Satan Spawn will remind us Bloody Blasphemy passages, a powerful injection of energy for the soul! Gabriel who marks a rock point in his sound without leaving out the band's characteristic strength, Eye of Horus and Blood Moon Eclipse are also classic songs that by right already have their deserved place in the live setlists, and that will undoubtedly be of the most requested tours.
This album has no waste in being enjoyed in its 8 tracks (Dominus Muscarum is a short prologue) and that in conclusion we can say that GD has managed to combine its classic sound with a more modern air without losing its identity. Currently evolving in its sound is a very risky point for many bands where there is a margin of success or failure, but in the case of GD this Illuminati has shown that Henri and his band remain in perfect shape, demonstrating their loyal fans and antagonists that we will have a band that has reinvented itself, and that with this work God Dethroned is dedicated at the top within the large number of Death Metal bands around the world offering a high quality work that goes in the way of being a classic in his discography, and that marks a before and after as a fierce competitor in his career!
You should definitely have it in your collections! Rating: A Glorious 10/10!
