¡Seguidores del Black Metal... Preparense!
Under The Flame Latinamerican Tour 2020.

NARGAROTH A Journey Under The Flames
Black Metal followers ... Get ready! Here we bring you in a special report to one of the pioneer bands of the genre, followed by many and mainly in Latin America, which for their legions is a cause for celebration to share in a live show of their history and legacy.
Our interview takes place in San Salvador, El Salvador, and that's where we talked with René Wagner, better known as ASH, the mastermind behind NARGAROTH, who shares impressions of his recent tour called Under The Flame Latin-American Tour 2020, which he would do Tour in countries like Mexico, Guatemala and El Salvador, and that marks a reunion with fans known from years ago, and new ones that are incorporated along the way.
In our conversation you will learn about the impressions with the start of the tour and the end of this one in El Salvador, in the renowned Medieval Bar, a retrospective of the years in the band and the Black Metal scene around the world, of what the local scene promises in Central and Latin America, but especially the respect and affection that many fans give him when he visits our region, and that undoubtedly many consider the experience of a Nargaroth concert as a Journey Under The Flames.
Conexion Rock Radio: Ash, it is a pleasure to talk with you here in El Salvador in this special report of your Latin American tour, in which we will share with all Nargaroth fans of the upcoming news that the band will have in 2020, welcome! Ash: Thanks to you, and it's a pleasure to be here in this country!
CR: Start this interview in know what impressions have you with the tour that you did days ago called Under The Flame Latin-American Tour 2020. You started in Mexico, then in Guatemala and end up here in El Salvador. How do you feel about returning to our region after many years? Ash: That's right, I like it a lot, I'm back here in your region and especially in this beautiful country. I hope to see many people, in the same way I hope to see some people that I already know, but I know that they live now in Spain, and they went to live a long time ago, and that now is their homeland (Patria in Spanish), you know what I mean by the term in our own country, so it's a bit sad that I can't see them again, but especially I've been here, I don't know how many years. But that was a long time ago with very good memories. And here we are back with all of you on this tour.
CR: On this tour, will you release new material or will we have the classic setlist with the best tracks of the band's career? Ash: For the setlist of this tour we will have a full spectrum of our entire history, playing songs from the first days to the most recent of the band.
CR: Many wonders: If Under The Flame is the name for a possible Nargaroth album? Ash: I'm working on a new album, so everything is the secret for now. (laughs)
CR: We know that you have interesting musicians on this tour, in the case of Vharst and Beliath, both Guitarists and from the band Mor Dagor, we want to know who´s the Drummer in these live shows, and what impressions have you of them in joining in this travel with you? Ash: The information is correct. All musicians are people very capable of offering a great performance on this tour, I am happy with them. The name of the Drummer is Krzysztof Saran, who has played for many years with Graveland, I really like him to be very calm, he is about my age, so it doesn't bother me ... we believe (laughs)
CR: What is your point of view of these 24 years that you have been with the band, are you proud of everything you have done to this day? Ash: I'm really proud of everything I did, but it's all part of my story that made me the moment I am now, so it's just that part that I can't deny.
CR: What do you think of the current scene of Black Metal worldwide, in which Nargaroth has a privileged place? Ash: The truth will be direct with what I will say, I don't like that Black Metal of today, especially conventional Black Metal, but everyone has their own opinion and that's mine, we all start with a fire and a conviction, but all that over the years has left only image many bands fall into narcissism, so I don't like it.
CR: You recently release a tape boxset called Blut, Feuer und Krieg: Hymn to the Wolves Among Lambs, we know this is a collection item, what motivated you to make this interesting project for the fans? Ash: Several people came up and asked me we could do a compilation project all inside a box and with an autographed card, and I thought it was a good idea, and I accepted to make 100 limited copies, so this we thought for those who like to collect things that you will rarely find out there.
CR: Many bands in recent years celebrate playing some classic albums integrally and live. In the case of Nargaroth Herbstleyd (launched in 1999) he turned 20, in 2020 Amarok also turns 20. Are you one of the people who are in favor or against making such ideas? Ash: If it worked or much more, it would make sense, we have this tour that we close here, and another one that is planned for August. I am not a professional musician, I work to live, so I am the man who avoided the label of an elegant guy. All this in my image means that no, I play so often in life, so I stay in a certain routine so as not to fall into a tendency to pay taxes or something, because I only go on tour a few times and that makes sense.
CR: After your concert in El Salvador, what's next on this tour? Ash: For now return home, continue with new ideas, and prepare new projects for fans this year.
CR: What message do you want to send to those who read this interview with you, and I want to thank you for your time in this special report of your view on Conexion Rock Radio. Ash: I will leave this message for all of you, and especially for a tip for young bands: if you want to make a Black Metal project be authentic, don't just copy to any Norwegian or European bands Ignore Europe, many people and many European black metal bands have killed that scene, and they are on their last breath, you know what I mean, it's simply exaggerated! Here in Latin America they have a very strong history of Black bands that most Europeans do not know, even most Latin Americans do not know their own history because they only believe that Norwegian bands are true. Do not copy from the Norwegian bands or European bands, you know, they have a rich history, the Aztec and Maya, that is a great culture and they have it in their hands! Fuck that ideology of believing Norwegian! Sing about their origins and be true to their roots. I like that people travel from other countries to see us, they have a great passion and they should keep that passion that you have when you look at a band that you appreciate.
CR: Ash, thank you so much! The best for you on your next tours, and we hope to talk with you again to follow up on this interesting story called Nargaroth! Ash: Thank you for coming and greetings to all your listeners and readers in Honduras and the rest of the world.
