ZEPHYRA
Altamente recomendable! 9/10 Tracklist 1.- Dreams Denied 2.- Fånge i frihet 3.- Waiting for Nothing 4.- Nothing Else Matters (Metallica cover) 5.- Paper Crown 6.- After the Meltdown 7.- Svart smärta 8.- A Letter for You 9.- My Pain 10.- Man Chooses, Slaves Obey |
ZEPHYRA
Fall, Rise, Conquer Review by Johonny Gonzalez @conexionrockhn So ... The Band Starts to Conquer! Hello and welcome to my show, I am your host tonight ... 2019 is an interesting year where several bands around the world release their albums making their expectations to be liked by their fans, either in this case with a record label that supports that push or doing their things on their own, and in the analysis of this album is the comparison of climbing a mountain whose goal is to reach the top. As a popular saying goes, "The third strike is the most effective", and implicitly applies the work that the Groove Metal Melodic band ZEPHYRA reflects in their new album that is called Fall. Rise. Conquer., And that for many is a job where the band experiences several sounds and that is considered their best work to date, with a lot of attitude and maturity on the part of its members that are very compared with a perfectly assembled machinery. The protagonists of this adventure are the marriage conformed by Asa (Vocals) and Tony Netterbrant (Guitars), complemented with Kujtim Gashi in the Drums and the recent incorporation and proudly Latin American Alfonso Rinaldo represents in the Bass, and that is coming from Venezuela.
Fall Rise. Conquer. invites us to a roller coaster of emotions embodied in 10 tracks that will not leave you indifferent from the first moment until the end of the album, where Asa makes versatility of his vocal quality in both clean and guttural, making his Groove Metal proposal arrive to the point of doing a flirtation with the Death Melodico in some passages like in Dreams Denied, or tracks in Swedish as Fånge i frihet and Svart smärta to mention some examples. One of the most interesting surprises of the album is the adaptation of Nothing Else Matters of Metallica, we must admit that we have all grown by the shadow that for several years James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich have forged in his career, and we could define in this cover a guilty pleasure but we received it with open arms.
In the middle part we find Paper Crown, a track that is worthwhile for its dynamics being played in a concert, likewise After The Meltdown with a sinister atmosphere in its beginnings, and that Asa gives that special touch with its vocals . The special and intimate point represents A Letter for You, the only ballad and break point of the album after a hurricane of riffs and frenetic speed that its members have given us without mercy until then. The closing is done with My Pain with a delicious mix of nuances of the Swedish metal that preach successfully to reach Man Chooses, Slaves Obey, the longest track of the album with almost 8 minutes and that puts an end to this album that makes with the liston high, and after these almost 50 minutes you want to repeat the dose that the doctor's recommendation prescribes so that your senses can experience what this Swedish band seeks in this record work with the aim of a single end: the conquest of the world!
Having said that, we invite you to listen to them on their Spotify channel where you can enjoy their discography, and witness in the first person the interesting evolution that Zephyra has developed over the years, and we do not doubt that this is only the first of many important steps that the band achieved with effort in expanding its sound to the most unsuspected corners of the world, and of positioning itself with honors in the rock and metal scene in prestigious festivals. Highly recommended!
