NERVOSA

NERVOSA
Perpetual Chaos Napalm Records Review by Johonny Gonzalez @conexionrockhn 2021 couldn´t have started in a better and brutal way with one of the releases that many of their fans around the world await with open arms, and everything indicates that for this band, their new deliver will mark the beginning of a glorious page in its history, and that as stated in its lines: they rise from the ruins to prevail in chaos. Ladies and gentlemen, we will comment for all of you on the new work of the Brazilian band NERVOSA, who will release next January 22, 2021 their fourth production in career called Perpetual Chaos, which is released via Napalm Records, and that This time they present a band that is literally reborn with a change in line-up but maintaining that essence that they have always offered us from previous works, and this time these talented girls decided to make a strong bet with this album that at the end of the day they come out victorious. Produced by the great Martin Furia at the Artesonao Studios in Malaga, Spain they present us with a work composed of 13 tracks with a duration of 44 minutes, the Guitarist and Founder Prika Amaral appears on stage sharing talents with Mia Wallace- Bass, Eleni Nota- Drums and Diva Satanica- Vocals. It should be noted at first that the incarnation of the band is not 100% Brazilian as we all thought, since Prika is the only component that is originally from Brazil, the rest of the group come from Spain, Greece and Italy respectively, which is why which this work will show a different face to the rest of its predecessors without demeaning of course the effort left until then by its former members such as Fernanda Lira, Luana Dalmeto and Pitchu Ferraz, who have invoiced high quality works such as Victim of Yourself, Agony and Downfall of Mankind. We go to the sound section and the starting gun is represented by the violent Venomous where the band is unbridled from the first moment, and this will definitely be a theme that will open up future concerts.
Guided By Evil has arrived, the first advance that they offered us months ago and that was undoubtedly a wise choice to be the presentation letter of this album, and that also marks the first video for this new work, and that the band puts between the lines what they were up to at the time. People of the Abyss is the track where Eleni Nota takes center stage in the drums, marking those Death Metal passages in the first seconds, and the rest would take the lead to enjoy one of the most interesting points on the album, 3.27 seconds of rage and that more than one would like to be part of the demolition in a moshpit when this track sounds at a concert. It´s time for the title track of the album and therefore the second single released- Perpetual Chaos, here the band as a perfect killing machine has undoubtedly released a song that will be considered as a hymn for the future.
Here we come across the first collaboration of the album on the track Until the Very End, and it´s Guilherme Miranda from the band Entombed A.D., who leaves his personal stamp and puts that delicious dynamic in the sound of the guitars. Like a bomb and without warning we are whipped by Genocidal Command, and nothing else appears the great Schmier, from the band Destruction and who does a tremendous duet with Diva Satanica on this track. Listening to it at first sight, we might think this song would be perfect for the Germans because of the theme of the lyrics, but it definitely gets the ovation for the first half of this album. We enter the second part and it starts with Kings of Domination.
If you thought that the band was going to lower the throttle, you are wrong because this is another of the tracks that will stand out in this work, the synchronization of the instruments will make you headbanging for the duration of the song in its part of choruses and intermediates with a Diva whose voice the instruments are allowed to take possession. In Time to Fight it is a delicious blitzkrieg that despite being short in duration, it turns out to be another song that is enjoyed, and that unconsciously, will remind us of bands from the line of Toxic Holocaust in this track. Godless Prisoner arrives with a dense and macabre atmosphere where they slow down a bit on the pedal where Diva plays a roller coaster of fast and slow moments, where Mia and Prika are perfect accomplices in the rhythmic base. Blood Eagle has a profile to be a single and a video where they resume speed, and to continue on that path towards Rebel Soul where nothing but Erik A.K. from the band Flotsam and Jetsam gives a different air to this track, and that this collaboration will not leave more than one indifferent. Pursued by Judgment is the moment where Mia does her thing on bass, a guaranteed spanking of 3 and a half minutes, candidate to be included in a setlist. The grand finale is represented by Under Ruins, which is a letter of intent from the band to their fans, hinting that we will have Nervosa for a while, and that this is the end of one cycle and the beginning of another. In conclusion, we can tell you that we are witnessing one of the releases that in 2021 will be acclaimed by the whole world. A work that was defined as a test of faith by four components who faced a crossroads that at the end of the day they knew how to overcome. A Perpetual Chaos that comes with many hymns for those who are lovers of Death Thrash Metal from the classical school in the style of Sodom and Destruction, and that without a doubt this current lineup of continuing like this in this same formula will consecrate its name with right foot in the metal scene around the world. ¡You must have it!
